The AZ Alkmaar ace looks set to depart the club this summer and a host of clubs are queueing up to grab his signature.
Chelsea have long been admirers of the Belgian, whilst Arsenal, AC Milan, Lazio, Sevilla and Valencia have also been keeping tabs on him.
Tottenham have now also emerged as possible bidders for the player, who will command in excess of £10million, but Serie A outfit Genoa look to be at the head of the queue.
"Last week there was an initial meeting between AZ and Genoa," Patrick Vervoort told Calcio Mercato.
"Now we await the reactions of Genoa to arrange a second meeting.
"But there are many other teams on hold, in Italy the names that I said some days ago .
"Outside, in addition to Chelsea and Sevilla there is also Valencia and Tottenham.
"Right now, Genoa is the only team that has been received by AZ."
