Chelsea's young Belgian star Romelu Lukaku said on Sunday he could seek a loan away from Stamford Bridge from next season if he does not get more playing time, the Belga news agency reported.

"If my situation at Chelsea does not evolve between now and the end of the season it may be better to be loaned out for a season," the 18-year-old told reporters.

Lukaku has to date only featured in half a dozen of Chelsea's games this season since arriving from Anderlecht.

"A loan this season is not possible as I have already played for two different clubs (but) if this situation endures it might be better to play for another club for a year and then come back.

"But let's see what happens in the next six months. Many things could still change," said Lukaku, regarded as one of Belgium's great hopes for the future along with Lille midfielder Eden Hazard.

Lukaku's problem at Chelsea is he is behind the likes of Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge in the striking stakes.
