Frank Lampard: I want to be Chelsea manager

The England midfielder, 31, has earned a reputation as one of the more durable players in the Premier League and, ahead of his 14th season as a professional, is confident he can go on for a while yet. He told The Times: "I've never put a figure on it but I'd like to go further than my contract is now (with four years left). "With the correct training and nutrition I don't see why I can't go on until I am 37 or 38. "It might be difficult for strikers with that extra yard of pace being so important but midfield players can keep going, especially if you keep learning." Lampard regularly helps out with the youth team at Stamford Bridge and he admits a future in management does appeal. He added: "I'm a Chelsea lifer now. With the news about John Terry staying, we've both been here a long time and I'd like to keep it that way. "Management does interest me now. I didn't want it a few years ago but, having worked with a lot of good managers and enjoyed seeing young players coming through, I'd like to give it a go. "I've spoken to John about it and we're looking at doing our badges together. "I'd love to manage Chelsea one day. It's a bit of a dream as I've got such a strong affiliation to the club but John might beat me to it."
