Frank Lampard backs Chelsea strikers to sink Juventus

But the strike duo appeared revived in last Saturday's win over Aston Villa and Frank Lampard predicted that they could prove pivotal in dismantling Juventus at Stamford Bridge.[LNB]While Luiz Felipe Scolari never persisted with the partnership, believing that the two strikers were too similar to gel effectively, there is no escaping the fact that Chelsea have won all three matches that the pair have started. [LNB]Anelka in particular has been in fine form, scoring four goals in his last two games - both of them alongide Drogba, himself restored after a protracted injury struggle. [LNB]Such a return is enough to persuade new manager Guus Hiddink of the strikers' value for the Champions League; certainly it has won over Lampard. "Nico's a huge weapon, and we saw Didier looking like the player we know he can be," the midfielder said. [LNB]"With Nico coming in off the left side and floating in, he is dangerous. He can pick the ball up and hurt people, so all of a sudden we have options. He has proven himself to be a world-class goalscorer - and he is certainly showing that this season." [LNB]Asked if Chelsea needed more of a killer instinct as the Juventus test approached, Lampard replied: "Agreed. We have needed far too many chances to score goals. But if you work hard and play with commitment and spirit, then you make your own luck and things will come for us." [LNB]
