Ribery's agent claims the French midfielder wants to leave Bayern Munich for Real Madrid, despite Chelsea having made him their main target this summer.

Manchester United have also monitored the 26-year-old, who has a £50 million price tag.

Ribery's agent, Alan Miglaccio, said: "The player has spoken with (Real sporting adviser) Zinedine Zidane and wants to sign for Real.

"At this time any move is off because the people at Bayern are on holiday until the end of the month. I cannot say anything more until we meet with them in the coming weeks."

AC Milan striker Pato, 19, insists he will remain at the San Siro as long as the club want him.

The Brazil international is a protege of Carlo Ancelotti, who brought him to Milan as a 17-year-old in 2007, and has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the wake of the Italian coach's arrival at Stamford Bridge.

But Pato said: "Pato will be at Milan always. I am part of Milan and the club decides on my life.

"I am happy at Milan and I am here to work for Milan. The past year and a half for me has been very great, I want to help Milan win the Champions League."
