Ferreira keen on Blues stay

Versatile Portugal defender Paulo Ferreira hopes to be able to remain with Chelsea until the end of his current contract in the summer of 2013.

The 31-year-old joined the Blues in the summer of 2004 from FC Porto and has since racked up well over 150 appearances in all competitions, although he has not been a regular starter for a majority of the last two seasons.

He told Maisfutebol: "I have a deal with Chelsea that runs until 2013 and my idea is to see that out and to then leave football, but this sport is unpredictable.

"If I finish that deal I will be 34 and it is difficult to find another club then, so this has always been my intention since I signed the deal.

"Rumours about a possible exit were false as I have always considered Chelsea to be my home as I have always had great support here.

"I am a player that has always given his all to his club, at Porto and here. I am a professional in all aspects.

"When I am able to look back on my career I will be content. I have been able to win many important titles and I am happy with what I have achieved."
