Ferreira on road to recovery

Chelsea full-back Paulo Ferreira is closing in on his return to first-team action after completing a full training session. The Portugal international has been sidelined since damaging his anterior cruciate ligament during training back in April. Ferreira is now well on the road to recovery, although he is aware of the dangers of rushing his comeback. He told the club's official website: "I feel well, I am only just starting so let's see how the knee reacts and it is a question of time. "In the next few weeks maybe I will play a game with the reserves and see how it is, but until now everything is going okay and there is no pain. "The manager has spoken to me and it is important, but I am only making five months now, so it is still important to be careful and take it progressively. I will improve day by day." He added: "It is always different to train alone so I am happy to be involved and I hope to keep my luck. I just have to keep going and work hard." Ferreira signed at Stamford Bridge from Porto in 2004 and has since made 99 Premier League appearances for the club.
