Ferreira has Chelsea future

Chelsea defender Paulo Ferreira is confident he has a future at Stamford Bridge having held talks with new boss Carlo Ancelotti. Ferreira featured in only a handful of matches for Blues last season under Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink, with a knee injury sustained in March ruling him out of the closing weeks of the season. The Portugal international full-back is now working his way back to full fitness and has been told he remains part of Ancelotti's plans. Ferreira, signed by Jose Mourinho from Porto for £13.2million in 2004, held talks with the Italian following his appointment this summer and is determined to fight for a place in the starting XI. Rated He said: "It was important to me that the manager rated me. "Ancelotti has told me that he has confidence in me and I will be part of his plans. "I want to forget last season because I am focusing on being fit for the start of this season and I believe I will be at my best by September. "No-one can doubt my commitment, I will always give 100 per cent but if you're not 100 per cent then you can't help the team and that was my problem last season."
