Fernando Torres is braced for a barrage of abuse from Liverpool fans but has promised not to celebrate if he scores on his Chelsea debut against his former club. [LNB]Torres is expected to play tomorrow for the first time since his transfer request and record-breaking ??50million move from Anfield to Stamford Bridge led to accusations of treachery on Merseyside. 'I have big respect for Liverpool fans so I don't think I will celebrate,' said Torres. [LNB]'Maybe it's too soon to ask for a good reception. I'm not expecting that but it would be a surprise for meif I get a very bad reception from them.[LNB]Raring to go: Torres is in line to make his Chelsea debut in the home clash with his ex-Liverpool team-mates[LNB]'I don't think it's fair to call me atraitor but it's an opinion. I will never talk bad about any ex-Liverpool players or staff. I think "traitor" makes no sense. I played three very good seasons there, left massive money there, lots of goals, good performances. I helped the sale process as well. [LNB]'I understand they will be angry and won't understand my decision. I am a fan of Atletico Madrid and, when some of the top players left, I didn't understand it but I understood they did the best for themselves and their families and their careers. [LNB]'I'm sure Liverpool fans will eventually see what I did and think in a different way. Football is likethis. From one day to another, people love you and then hate you. I'm very happy with everything I did there. I had to think about my career. It's a step forward, everyone agrees. When I had the chance to join Chelsea, I couldn't say no.[LNB] Smiling again: Torres and Blues boss Ancelotti were in good spirits looking ahead to Sunday's crunch clash[LNB]'Sometimes in life there are trains that come your way only once. You have to take that train. I know the plans, the ambitions for the future. I want to be involved in that future, building a great team, fighting to be the biggest club in England and the best in Europe. [LNB]'Most of my Spain team-mates have wonall the trophies in the past two years and I would like to do the same thing.' [LNB]Torres claimed his desire to leave Liverpool grew with the exit of top players like Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano and the disruption behind the scenes which has delayed the club's hopes of revival. [LNB]It also emerged last night that Manchester City tried to sign him last summer. 'I never lost my ambition,' said the 26-year-old, hitting back at those who have criticised his performances this season. [LNB]'I have not just been playing there for six months but for three-and-a-half years and I have always been trying to help the club move forward. In the last month or two, I've been playing close to my best, recovering my form after the World Cup. Ifeel really good.'[LNB] A fiery bunch: Liverpool fans burn a Torres shirt outside Liverpool's Melwood training ground after his transfer[LNB]Carlo Ancelotti believes the arrival of Torres and defender David Luiz, signed for ?25m from Benfica, give Chelsea a chance to close the 10-point gap on Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United, who they must still play home and away. [LNB]'We have more possibilities to close this,' said Ancelotti. 'We have more power, ability, strength, experience. It won't be easy because 10 points is not easy to close up but we will try. The team is in good condition.' [LNB]The Chelsea manager said the only reason to leave Torres out against Liverpool tomorrow would be on the consideration that he has not had much time to train with his team-mates. [LNB]'We bought Fernando obviously becausewe want him to play for us,' said Ancelotti. 'Not just this game. Thereare a lot of games in his future and he will score a lot of goals. [LNB]'Fernando has trained only three times this week. It would not be an emotional decision. He doesn't have aproblem playing against Liverpool. He has the knowledge to manage with this kind of game. [LNB]'The only reason, for me, is that he's only been training with his new team-mates for three days. Just this. Maybe he can start. It depends how I sleep.' [LNB]  Torres reveals Chelsea move was not a smash and grab affairTorres was worth ?70m!
