Fernando Torres: No lack of love from Chelsea fans for their expensive date

If love was what Torres needed on Valentine's Day, he got plenty of it from the Chelsea fans. They chanted his name relentlessly, particularly in the first half. [LNB]However, the Fulham fans were less welcoming and sang: 'What a waste of money.'[LNB] Crowded out: Fernando Torres endures a rough ride at Fulham[LNB] Fulham captain Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool player and still a fan, had said he wouldn't recognise Torres in his new blue shirt. [LNB]However, there was no mistaking the sullen, uninterested figure alone up front for Chelsea; the same hunched shoulders of the No 9 we saw towards the end of Torres's spell at Anfield. [LNB]In the absence of Drogba, Malouda floated in from the left and Anelka stayed fairly wide on the right, but the Spaniard remained isolated and frustrated. [LNB]His first significant contribution was to concede a free-kick for pulling defender Aaron Hughes's shirt.[LNB] Lord Sugar (right) found the reason for Torres's flop in form. [LNB]He wrote on Twitter: 'Not being funny but he should go blond again to bring him good luck. [LNB]'He used to score as a blond. How technical is that.'[LNB] Just a minute, that's pricey! Torres's 65-minute debut against former club Liverpool and 71 minutes against Fulham works out at ?367,647 a minute. Or, put another way, roughly two weeks' wages.[LNB] Chelsea 's front three were bought for a total of ?78.5million. However, they could not muster a single meaningful shot on target in the first half.[LNB] I'm having a stinker: Torres flops again but Cech dives to the rescue for ChelseaFulham 0 Chelsea 0: Torres fails to cash in - ?50m striker draws another blankCHELSEA FC
