Frustration: Terry faces a spell on the sidelines[LNB]Fabio Capello has backed John Terry's decision to stop playing until he has recovered from a nerve problem in his right leg. [LNB]Terry told Sportsmail he fears being sidelined for months by the injury, which has prevented him joining up with Capello's squad ahead of England's friendly with France on Wednesday. [LNB]Chelsea have confirmed their captain will see various specialists in a bid to find a long-term solution while Capello has seen at first-hand the distress Terry has been in at times and privately questioned whether the Chelsea skipper was fit enough to play. [LNB]Now the 30-year-old has made his momentous decision, Capello is a relieved man. [LNB]'Itis a good decision,' said Capello 'I read he will be out for a longtime but he has played a lot of games with an injection. [LNB]'Ispoke with him a few times and asked him whether he was fit to play. You can't play with injections all the time. It is impossible.'[LNB]As recently as the weekend, it was being suggested Terry's commitment to the England cause was in doubt. [LNB] Capello never had any fears despite the strain that was put on his personal relationship with the player after he stripped him of the captaincy earlier this year, and then slapped him down after his infamous and outspoken press conference during the World Cup in South Africa. [LNB]The Italian knew the truth of Terry's situation. [LNB]'He didn't play because he wasn't fit. Now you know why,' he said. [LNB] Wise move: Capello has welcomed Terry's decision to take a break from playing[LNB]Terry has managed just 45 minutes of action for his country since the World Cup and his place will go to either Phil Jagielka or Joleon Lescott at Wembley. [LNB]Terry said: 'It is at a point where I cannot carry on with it,' Terry said. 'I used to be able to make it through games because the adrenalin gets you going and you blank the pain out. [LNB]'But now there is no decision to make. After games I'm in agony and not sleeping at all.'[LNB] Terry admits he is concerned over when he may be able to return to full fitness. [LNB]'I am at my wit's end,' added the former England captain. 'I know I won't play against Birmingham on Saturday, but beyond that there are no clues. It could be weeks, it could be months.'[LNB] A Chelsea spokesman confirmed Terry would continue to receive expert medical care in the search for a cure. [LNB]'John reported for training this morning,' said the spokesman. 'He met with club doctors and medical team and discussed plans to continue seeing various specialists to try to find a solution to the nerve problems he has been experiencing in his right leg.'[LNB] Terry shocker - chronic leg nerve problem may put him out for months Cole warns youngster Gibbs he won't give up England place without a fightEngland's 'boring' new boy Henderson is every manager's dreamSacre Bleu!
