The Football Association have confirmed that they are looking into remarks attributed to
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech relating to
Arsenal's second goal in the 2-2 draw at Highbury.
Cech reportedly slated referee Graham Poll for allowing Thierry Henry's quick free-kick, which left the Blues keeper stranded as he lined up his defensive wall.
Morning reports quoted Cech as telling a Czech website: "The referee presented Arsenal with a goal. It was shocking.
"It is not possible to accept this. Referee Poll harmed us.
"Maybe he is a supporter of Arsenal. Or maybe he just had a blackout, it is difficult to explain. But he must have an uneasy conscience."
Later, Cech responded in the Daily Star by saying: "I wouldn't say anything like that about a referee.
"If I was that angry you'd have expected me to say something to him after the game and I didn't."
However, the FA confirmed in a statement: "The FA is pursuing enquiries into media comments attributed to Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech about referee Graham Poll following his team's match at Arsenal on Sunday 12 December."
