England duo miss training

Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole sat out training on Monday ahead of England's upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header. The England squad arrived at Arsenal's London Colney training ground on Monday morning ahead of the games against Kazakhstan and Andorra. However, Ferdinand and Cole did not take part in the first session after being allowed to rest injuries picked up recently. Ferdinand had been sidelined for three weeks with a calf injury before returning to action in Manchester United's UEFA Champions League final defeat by Barcelona last Wednesday. Cole, meanwhile, picked up a knock during Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the weekend. James Milner did feature in training after the Aston Villa winger was called into the squad to replace Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick, who withdrew due to a foot injury. David Beckham, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Joleon Lescott had a spell training separately from the main group after being involved in games at the weekend. England face Kazakhstan away from home on Saturday before Fabio Capello's side welcome Andorra to Wembley a week on Wednesday.
