Stoke are in talks to sign Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco on loan.

Gudjohnsen, 31, spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham after falling down the pecking order at Monaco. He has also held talks with Fulham and Rangers.

Stoke are still interested in Middlesbrough's Gary O'Neil but have rejected a £4.5m bid from Chelsea for goalkeeper Amir Begovic.
