Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has pledged his future to the club despite Jose Mourinho's departure last week.

Mourinho signed Drogba in the summer of 2004 from Marseille and the Ivory Coast international was reported to be in tears when saying goodbye to the Portuguese manager.

However, Drogba insists he will remain at Stamford Bridge until his contract expires in June 2010 even though he hinted at a move away from England in the summer.

The 29-year-old told The Sun: "I am not considering quitting Chelsea, I have a contract which I will follow through. I feel other players will feel the same way too.

"I will decide on my next step of action when the time is right and I get an offer.

"As footballers, we obey our contract and concentrate on building our career.

"But all of us will miss Mourinho."

Drogba has scored 66 times in 147 appearances for Chelsea.
