Drogba to join top earners

Chelsea have reportedly offered Didier Drogba a new contract worth in excess of £100,000 a week.

The Ivorian striker has been in stunning form this season, scoring nine times in 13 appearances including spectacular winners against Liverpool and Barcelona.

His performances have persuaded Blues officials that they should move to secure his services for the long term with the offer of a four-year deal that would see him move into the top salary bracket at Stamford Bridge.

Should Drogba opt to sign the deal, he would join Chelsea team-mates Andriy Shevchenko, Michael Ballack, John Terry and Frank Lampard in being paid over £5million a season.
