    Drogba reveals Marseille wish

    21 Jan 2009 - 09:26:42

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has admitted that he would love the chance to return to former club Marseille at some point in the future.

The 30-year-old Ivory Coast international has been left out of the Blues' last two games, sparking talk of a possible exit from Stamford Bridge.

Although Drogba has not made a direct plea for a move, he has confirmed that he still has a passion for Marseille and their fans.

He told the French newspaper La Provence: "It's hard to know if one day we will have the chance to finish this adventure, maybe in a better way. Nothing is impossible.

"It's tough for me to find the right words to explain the relationship between Marseille fans and me. I still love this club and it will never change, whatever happens.

"It's not necessarily the right moment for me to speak about a possible return. I have a lot of respect for Chelsea and as long as I'm under contract with them, I can't express myself.

"If something is made to happen, I don't know on what conditions, Marseille are going to have to contact Chelsea.

"I have not opened the door to a possible transfer, I've simply explained the situation. I have missed the last two games and I am keen to return to my best and play regularly."

Drogba has scored 83 goals in 191 appearances for Chelsea since his arrival in the summer of 2004.
