Drogba keen for Ancelotti talks
07 Jun 2009 - 15:27:06
Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba is desperate to speak to new Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti before signing a new Stamford Bridge contract.
It had been reported that the 31-year-old striker was on the verge of signing a new three-year deal with the Blues but is now believed to be having second thoughts as Internazionale and Manchester City have been linked with securing his services.
"I have read a lot things but I prefer to know first-hand what plans Carlo Ancelotti has and then decide what is best for me," Drogba told The People.
"I have a contract with Chelsea and nobody has told me to look for another club.
"My agents have had some informal contact with the club in the last few days. I want to talk with Ancelotti to find out what he really expects from me.
"I have heard some good reports about him. He is a big-name coach who has won a lot of titles.
"They say he is a very open approachable manager and that is the style of coach that I like."
