Chelsea striker Didier Drogba believes Michael Essien's excellent form this season is one of the main reasons why Jose Mourinho's side are once again challenging for the Premiership title.
The Ghana international has been an ever-present in the Blues midfield this term and scored a magnificent goal in the recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Drogba said: "He (Essien) has played every minute this season and is one of the best midfielders in the world.
"He is unique. He can play right-back, central midfield and centre-back. Chelsea supporters now know why the club bought him."
