Drogba determined to stay

Striker Didier Drogba insists he has no desire to leave Chelsea in the summer.

Drogba, 31, has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge on the back of an inconsistent season and his controversial behaviour at the end of the Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Barcelona.

The Ivory Coast striker is expected to be heavily punished by UEFA following his angry reaction and confrontation with the referee following the defeat on away goals earlier in the month.

But despite the negative headlines surrounding his Stamford Bridge future, Drogba claims he wants to stay with the Blues for the long term.

"I believe the future of Chelsea will be splendid because we have created something for which now many want to come to Chelsea," he said.

"They know that when they come here every year they have to fight to win trophies.

"This club was already historical but it will become even more so.

"I am very proud to be part of all of it and I want to stay here as long as they want me."
