Drogba desperate to return
22 Jan 2009 - 12:10:25
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has urged Luiz Felipe Scolari to recall him as he is 'in a hurry to return to his best'.
The unsettled Ivory Coast striker has been omitted from Scolari's last two matchday squads after a lacklustre display in the 3-0 defeat at Manchester United on January 11.
Drogba is rumoured to be in line for a return to the fold for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round meeting with Ipswich Town and the striker has revealed he is desperate to play.
The 30-year-old has scored just one Premier League goal this season after missing more than half of the Blues' games with a knee ligament problem.
"I've not played for the last two matches and I'm in a hurry to return to my best level and be a first-team regular again," said Drogba.
"If you look back to last May, I've been out for four to six months and it has been very difficult for me. But now I feel in top form.
"I know what I am capable of doing and the real satisfaction for me is that my knee is completely right."
