Drogba boost for Chelsea

Chelsea boss Avram Grant has revealed striker Didier Drogba could be in line for a surprise return to the squad for Saturday's derby against Fulham. The Ivory Coast striker has not made an appearance since suffering a knee injury in the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on September 2. Drogba limped off the Villa Park pitch at full-time and was immediately withdrawn from international duty. However, following three-and-a-half weeks on the sidelines, last season's 33-goal top-scorer is set to return to action against the Cottagers at Stamford Bridge. "We will check the players this afternoon and tomorrow to make sure everything is okay but probably Didier will be back," Grant told the club's official website. However, the Israeli coach has revealed the news is not so positive surrounding Drogba's injured team-mates Frank Lampard and Ricardo Carvalho. Lampard hasn't featured since the end of August with a thigh injury, while Carvalho has made only two appearances this season with an ankle problem. "Frank Lampard not yet but almost," added Grant. "Ricardo Carvalho needs a few more days and he will be okay. "They do everything that they can to be back quickly and they are already coming back quicker than we thought."
