Drogba sits out Elephants training

Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba sat out of training as a precaution to rest his broken arm ahead of his side's World Cup curtain raiser.[LNB] The Ivorians' campaign gets underway against Portugal on Tuesday and Drogba is struggling to be fit after sustaining the injury in a friendly against Japan.[LNB]The Chelsea man underwent surgery in Berne to try correct the problem and manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is hopeful his star name will recover to help his team through a tough Group G, which also includes Brazil and North Korea.[LNB]The Elephants trained in Johannesburg to continue their preparations for the clash in Port Elizabeth but Drogba remained at the team hotel to receive treatment.[LNB]Eriksson is likely to wait until the last possible moment before making a decision on Drogba's involvement, giving the 32-year-old every chance of being fit for Tuesday's encounter.
