Drogba - Scolari exit was key

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba believes that Luiz Felipe Scolari's sacking was the turning point in his season.[LNB] The 31-year-old has scored 11 goals from 19 starts in all competitions this term, eight of which have come after the Brazilian was dismissed at the start of February.[LNB]The Ivory Coast international struggled with injuries at the start of the campaign but even when fit the former Portugal boss appeared to prefer Nicolas Anelka upfront.[LNB]The burly frontman has responded emphatically to new manager Guus Hiddink's methods and admits that his experiences at the beginning of the season have made him hungrier to succeed.[LNB]"I really missed playing earlier in the season and now I am really hungry to perform," he told the Evening Standard.[LNB]Turning point"Scolari leaving made a big difference to me and the team. I was given a chance to show I was not injured any more and that I was ready to help the team."[LNB]Drogba now has his sights set on Arsenal as the two London clubs lock horns for an FA Cup semi-final showdown at Wembley on Saturday.[LNB]The former Marseille ace warmed up for the clash by tormenting Liverpool's defence in the second-half of the epic 4-4 UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw at Stamford Bridge in midweek and the player insists his desire is as strong as ever.[LNB]"I have my energy back," he added.[LNB]"The last two months my desire to play and win games has been very strong."[LNB]
