Dirk Kuyt back in Inter Milan's sights

Inter Milan have been linked with a renewed bid for Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt after talks to sign Giuseppe Sculli from Genoa hit the rocks. [LNB]The Italian champions thought they had clinched a £5million deal for 29-year-old Sculli at the weekend, but delays have left frustrated San Siro insiders looking at their alternatives. [LNB]Kuyt was always the preferred option for Inter boss Rafa Benitez, but a deal would be difficult because the former Liverpool manager agreed not to raid his former club during the summer transfer window. [LNB] Dutch courage: Benitez could be about to risk making a move for Kuyt[LNB]An exception could be made for unhappy Javier Mascherano, who remains in Inter's plans, but Roy Hodgson is unlikely to want to part with hard-working Holland international Kuyt. [LNB]The Italians may need to move quickly as Kuyt would be cup-tied for the Champions League if he plays against Trabzonspor on Thursday and Liverpool subsequently progress from their Europa League play-off. [LNB]Bringing in a winger remains a priority for Benitez before he turns attention to Mascherano.[LNB] Battle: Liverpool are keen to keep midfielder Mascherano (right) at Anfield[LNB]Their initial bid could be less than £15m - way below Liverpool's valuation of the Argentina captain - but they feel in a position of strength because Barcelona's interest has cooled and the player is so desperate to move. [LNB]Inter want to sell before bidding for the midfielder, with Nicolas Burdisso - linked to Chelsea - available, along with Victor Obinna, Nelson Rivas, David Suazo and Mancini. [LNB]Meanwhile, reports in Italy have linked Inter with a move for Tottenham's Giovani dos Santos following the sale of Mario Balotelli to Manchester City.  [LNB] Messi urges Barcelona to wrap up signing of Liverpool's MascheranoSign up to our FREE Fantasy Football game - with £40,000 in prize money up for grabsRafa to raid Liverpool for Kuyt as Inter prepare to splash Balotelli millionsNo go for Mascherano?
