Didier Drogba admits Chelsea are 'obsessed' with winning the Champions League. The Blues have won two League titles, two FA Cups and two League Cups since Roman Abramovich made them one of the game's high-rollers six years ago - but Europe's biggest prize still eludes them. And it is something that drives star striker Drogba mad. 'To win the Premier League back from Manchester United is, of course, hugely important,' the 31-year-old told ShortList magazine. 'But I don't think it is any secret that the Champions League has become an obsession for some of the Chelsea players. 'We have come so close before and when you come that close it hurts, it really hurts.' The pain was obvious for everyone to see when Drogba infamously confronted Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after Chelsea's defeat by Barcelona in the semi-final last season. The incident led to him being banned for the opening three group matches of this Champions League campaign. 'It's something I shouldn't have done, no question, because fans were watching me,' he said. 'I was angry. When something means that much to you it is very hard to control your emotions, but it was not the way to act.' Drogba paid tribute to new boss Carlo Ancelotti's tactical astuteness, which has seen Ivory Coast striker partnered up front with Nicolas Anelka this season, thanks to a change of system. The pair have notched nine League goals between them so far this season and Drogba puts the success down to their relationship off the pitch. 'We like to shop, we are both very much into our clothes and eat together too, and the fact we get on off the field is starting to show on the field,' said Drogba.
