Chelsea have finally go around to signing a striker that will allow them to 'rest' Fernando Torres.
Chelsea did that last season, well, for basically the whole season, while Didier Drogba propelled the Blues to Champions League glory.
Now Demba Ba will have the honour of trying to resurect Chelsea's faltering title ambitions and keep them at least in fourth place in the Premier League - a situation which will give them qualification for next season's Champions League campaign..
Ba, a £7.5M signing from Newcastle United will go straight into the side to face Southampton in the FA Cup third round tomorrow at St Mary's.
Torres, much to the relief of everybody with the exception of Fernando himself, should be warming the bench.
