Daniele De Rossi signs new Roma deal

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has committed his future to the Giallorossi by signing a five-year contract extension. The 28-year-old Italy international, whose previous deal was due to expire in the summer, had been linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League, with Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly keen to acquire his services. However, the announcement - which comes after months of negotiations between the player and the American-owned club - looks set to end such speculation.
