Courtois claims Blues interest

Young Genk goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois claims Chelsea are chasing his signature as a long-term successor to Petr Cech. [LNB] But the teenager insists he would spend at least next season back on loan with the Belgian champions if he completes a move to Stamford Bridge this summer. [LNB]The Blues have already been heavily linked with a swoop for Genk midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, and 19-year-old Courtois could form part of a double deal. [LNB]The keeper, who is under contract until June 2014, believes Chelsea would build his experience by sending him out on loan with a view to him succeeding regular No.1 Cech when he eventually retires. [LNB]"It's wonderful that they (Chelsea) have such confidence in me and see me as the successor of Petr Cech," Courtois told FM Brussel. [LNB]"Chelsea has a great sporting level and I can grow at ease for a few years until I reach the first team.[LNB]"This will not happen in a year or two, but three, four or five years. I might as well develop myself quietly." [LNB]He added: "No matter what happens, I'll play again next season in the Genk jersey. [LNB]"Maybe I'll stay two years, it will depend on how I develop here. Then we'll see if I will be lent to an English team."
