Contrite John Terry says sorry and thanks fans for their support

John Terry yesterday apologised to Chelsea fans, while thanking them for their support during his recent personal crisis.

Terry was given time off to travel to Dubai and spend the weekendwith his wife, Toni, but still wrote his captain's programme notes forthe FA Cup fifth-round tie against Cardiff City.

'Thank you everyone, thank you so much, for the game against Arsenal,' he wrote.

'After everything that had happened over the previous few weeks, youfans were absolutely brilliant. I'm grateful for all your support lastweekend.'

Terry, who will return for Saturday's trip to Wolves, went on to take the blame for the midweek 2-1 defeat at Everton.

'On a personal note, both Everton goals were my fault. 'I'm big enough to take responsibility for that,' he added.
