Conte set to bring Serie A superstar to Chelsea?

With rumours that Diego Costa could be heading back to Spain and Atletico Madrid it seems that Conte could have a very different looking front line when it comes to the first match weekend in mid-August.

Several players have been linked with joining new acquisition Michy Batshuayi but today Gonzalo Higuain, Serie A's most lethal striker last season joins the list of potentials. The 28-year-old Napoli forward scored an incredible 36 goals in 35 starts making him one of the world's most prolific frontmen. A sticking-point could be the cost with the £78million release-clause looking steep considering 36 league goals is unusual for the forward.

Spanish outlet AS (via the Mirror) claim the former Real Madrid striker could be picked up by the Blues after they sell Costa and they also believe Chelsea will get their man for less than the release clause.

The Argentine joined Real madrid from River Plate in 2007 where he built his reputation as one of the world's best strikers over a seven season period before being sold to Napoli in 2013 for €40 million where he arguably became an even better player.
