Midfielder Joe Cole insists that winning the Premier League title with Chelsea is his main priority even in a World Cup year.
Cole, 28, has yet to win back his place in the England squad following the serious knee injury he suffered last season.
He is also out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season.
However, the former West Ham starlet claims he is focused only on helping the Blues reclaim the league title and defend the FA Cup during the closing weeks of the season.
"My focus at the moment is just playing well for Chelsea," he said. "I don't like to talk about England because you can't talk yourself into an England squad.
"I just want to work hard for my team-mates and whatever happens, happens.
"It's obviously something I'd like to play in but at the moment I'm just concentrating on helping Chelsea win the title.
"I just want to keep playing well. I give everything in every game I play and that's just my nature.
"I want to work hard for my team-mates and manager and what will be will be."
