Cole convinced Terry will stay

Ashley Cole has urged his Chelsea and England team-mate John Terry to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Terry continues to be linked with a big-money transfer to Manchester City despite protestations by the Chelsea hierarchy that the club captain is not for sale.

Terry has been silent on the issue, but Cole is convinced his defensive colleague wants to stay with the club.

He told the Sunday Mirror: "Everyone wants him to stay. He's our captain, he's our leader. And he's said he's Chelsea through and through.

"But there's nothing we, the players, can do about it. There's nothing I can do. I haven't talked to him about it. I'm not getting involved in any of that.

"I went through the same thing, so I'm staying out of it. But I can definitely sympathise with his situation.

"The fans want him to stay - not like me. It's a little bit different with John. He loves it here. He's Chelsea. The fans, all the players and me all hope he stays."
