Cole back on Blues bench at Spurs

Ashley Cole has fully recovered from his fractured ankle and is in the Chelsea squad for Saturday's game against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

England left-back Cole will start on the bench against Spurs despite having no comeback matches since breaking his ankle against Everton earlier this season.

His return is also a massive boost for England boss Fabio Capello ahead of the World Cup finals in South Africa this summer.

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "Ashley has not played but he is very fit and trained all week with us.

"He will be on the bench tomorrow."

Ancelotti will recall also Deco, Joe Cole and Florent Malouda after all three were left out of the starting line-up for the 1-0 win over Bolton on Tuesday night.

Michael Essien (knee), Ricardo Carvalho (ankle) and Jose Bosingwa (knee) are all sidelined.

Kick-off at White Hart Lane is 5:30pm.
