Ciao Carlo! Chelsea confirm Ancelotti as new Stamford Bridge boss
Chelsea have confirmed Carlo Ancelotti is their new manager and the Italian has immediately turned his attention to winning the Champions League. The Italian has been officially announced as Stamford Bridge boss fewer than 18 hours after confirming he was leaving AC Milan 'by mutual consent' and insisting that his move to London was not definite. But Ancelotti succeeds interim boss Guus Hiddink after a wooing that dates back several weeks. Sportsmail revealed on April 7 that Blues owner Roman Abramovich had turned to Ancelotti after giving up hope of Russia coach Hiddink remaining beyond the end of the season. Ancelotti, who indicated he would be keen to sign a number of players from his former club, insists he faces the same pressure in west London as in Milan. Speaking in broken English to Chelsea TV, he said: 'Objective is easy to find at Chelsea - win the Champions League, win Premier League, win FA Cup, win Carling Cup. All is not easy, but the right way is to create a group of people that work well together.
