"It was a surprise that Liverpool lost twice in the first three games and it gives us extra motivation," said Ballack. "All we can do is win games. We have to focus on ourselves and if we play the best we can we can win the league." Ballack said the impact made by new coach Carlo Ancelotti has been immediate. "It was a good pre-season," said the Germany captain. "The finish to last season with Guus Hiddink, the team looked well and played good football and that is what we have done at the beginning of this season. "The coach is always important to put a good atmosphere in the team and since Carlo Ancelotti arrived he has brought the team back together." Ballack, now 32, hopes to follow John Terry's lead in committing his future to the club. 'I'm enjoying playing. I want to play football for a few more years at a high level because I feel good. This is the best league in the world and I'm happy to be a part of it. 'It was a good choice for me to move to England. I feel comfortable at Chelsea but it's always down to both sides. I know I have more years ahead but I don't want to put myself or the club under pressure. If we come together, we come together.' Chelsea's next Premier League game comes on Sept 12, when they face a tricky fixture away to Stoke City.
