Chelsea v Everton preview

Chelsea and Everton will stage a dress rehearsal of the FA Cup final when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Wednesday night. However, the match, represents more than a practice for the Wembley showpiece on 30th May, especially for the home side at Stamford Bridge. Guus Hiddink's impact in West London has been much publicised and the Dutchman believes that his UEFA Champions League semi-finalists remain serious contenders for the Premier League as they refuse to give up on a potential Treble. Victory over Everton would move Chelsea to within a point of their opponents' Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who drew 4-4 with Arsenal on Tuesday. The sixth-placed Toffees, though, arrive in the capital intent on proving a point ahead of their underdog role in the cup, while a win would reinforce their Europa League prospects. StruggleChelsea are without midfielder Deco and right-back Jose Bosingwa for the visit of David Moyes' side. Deco is struggling with a hamstring problem while Bosingwa will not return to full training until Thursday after recovering from his own hamstring strain. Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira are both out for the season with knee ligament injuries. Everton striker Jo returns to the squad after being cup-tied for the cup semi-final penalty shoot-out victory over Manchester United at the weekend. Boss Moyes is considering resting some of his players at Stamford Bridge after their 120-minute effort at Wembley on Sunday. But the Scot has no fresh injury worries to contend with as he bids to further reinforce a reputation which has earned recent high praise. Possible starting XIsChelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, A Cole, Kalou, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Malouda, Drogba.
