Chelsea target Sinisa Andjelkovic seals 1m move from Maribor to Palermo

No luck this time: Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti Chelsea have missed out on Slovenian centre half Sinisa Andjelkovic after Palermo rushed to clinch his £1million signing from Maribor. The Blues were in the early stages of checking out the 24-year-old after recently securing a working relationship with the eastern European club. However, the interest forced Palermo into clinching a deal to make him their third arrival from Maribor this year following the summer signings of midfielders Armin Bacinovic and Josip Ilicic. Maribor sporting director Zlatko Zahovic confirmed that Andjelkovic had signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Serie A side. Zahovic revealed last month that Chelsea were keen on the club's academy players and coaches from the Slovenian outfit are expected to visit west London on a fact-finding mission in the New Year.  Bastian Schweinsteiger snub for Manchester United and Chelsea as Bayern Munich star eyes Real Madrid move Wilkins insists row with Abramovich was not behind axe from ChelseaNeymar has no regrets over snubbing Chelsea and wants Brazil kids to stayI'll let the Drog in: Marseille boss Deschamps wants Drogba backCHELSEA FC
