Chelsea seek transfer ban freeze

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) has confirmed that Chelsea want their Fifa transfer ban suspended until a decision on their appeal is made.The club cannot sign players until 2011 as Fifa ruled they induced Gael Kakuta to break his Lens contract in 2007. "A decision concerning the request (to suspend the ban) is likely to be issued at the beginning of November," said a statement on the Cas website.
