Chelsea ready to offer Paulo Ferreira in 20m David Luiz deal

Chelsea have revived their interest in Benfica's Brazil defender David Luiz. The Premier League champions are considering a £20m bid for the highly-rated 23-year-old, which would involve Portugal full back Paulo Ferreira moving to Lisbon. Centre of attention: Benfica defender Luiz turns out against Schalke Ancelotti is also ready to sell Ferreira's fellow Portuguese Jose Bosingwa in the summer with Ajax and Holland defender Gregory van der Wiel an £18m replacement. Chelsea's interest in Van Der Wiel, 22, was confirmed by outgoing sporting director Frank Arnesen who said: 'Our priority is now a central defender with Alex injured. Gregory is on our No.1 list, but not currently at the top. If we're serious, nothing will happen until the summer.' Ancelotti's major concern is to get 23-year-old Luiz signed and although Benfica rejected Chelsea's opening £16.5m offer, the Blues have now added Ferreira to the package. The chances of the deal going through improved when they signed 24-year-old Brazilian Jardel from Olhanense to replace Luiz.  Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain close to £5m move from Southampton to ArsenalChelsea dealt major blow as Dortmund insist Subotic is going nowhere    Explore more:People: Jose Bosingwa, Frank Arnesen Places: Lisbon, Portugal, The Netherlands, Brazil
