Chelsea check on Renan
Premier League giants Chelsea are reported to be one of the sides tracking Brazilian starlet Bruno Renan. The 17-year-old is currently on the books of Gremio in his homeland, but is expected to make a high-profile switch to Europe in the near future. A defensive midfielder by trade, Renan is also said to be attracting interest from Spanish outfit Villarreal. He has been one of the star attractions at a recent youth tournament in Lloret de Mar, where a number of scouts have been in attendance. Gremio have made it clear that they are yet to receive a formal approach for Renan's services, but have accepted that offers are inevitable. The youngster is contracted to the Port Alegre-based club until 2011, but it is believed a bid of around €4million (£3.6m) would be enough to lure him away from South America. "My dream is to play in Europe and I hope that will be possible," said Brenan. "During the tournament in Spain I have spoken to a number of agents, but a move depends on my agent and Gremio. "I am happy with how things are and I do not expect anything to happen for a few months. "A move to Europe could happen over the summer. I am ambitious and I will not rule anything out."
