Chelsea and Man City on red alert as Trezeguet plots his escape from Juventus

Chelsea and Manchester City will consider moving for Juventus striker David Trezeguet, with the striker set to end his nine-year spell with the Italian giants. The France international striker joined Juventus in 2000 after scoring the golden goal to win the European Championships and has hit 161 goals for the Serie A club. But Trezequet is now ready for a fresh challenge according to his agent. Trezeguet was left on the bench against Inter Milan on Saturday and the players' agent Antonio Caliendo suggested the 31-year-old striker could move on at the end of the season. Both Chelsea and City have been linked with Trezeguet in the past and will be encouraged to make a bid. 'I was on the stands and saw him on the bench against Inter while his club was a goal behind,' Caliendo told the Italian media. 'It made me sick. He has been the top European scorer in the last ten years, a world and European champion who scores goals every season. 'We are not speaking about a 38-year-old veteran whose career is almost over. He has scored 161 goals for Juve, is in great form and can play the entire 90 minutes. 'He does act like a pro and is ready to give it all, even for 10 or 15 minutes. He is married to Juventus, it is the club of his heart and it should be for life. But sometimes when their marriage is not going the right way, people divorce.'
