// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} 90 + 2 ALL OVER: Ancelotti begins his mission to bring the Champions League trophy to Chelsea with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Porto, who had Fernando sent off late on, as Anelka scores at Stamford Bridge. Stay with us for all the post-match reaction.[LNB]90 + 2 Fernando is sent off in the dying seconds as he receives a second booking for clattering Ashley Cole. A stupid challenge.[LNB]90 ADDED TIME: There will be a minimum of two minutes added time at the end of the first half. It is a nervous finish for Chelsea.[LNB]89 Porto win a corner. Carvalho beats Rolando to a knock down and hoofs high and clear.[LNB]87 Falcao goes down dramatically in the 18-yard area and there is a sudden silence at Stamford Bridge when fans think a penalty has been awarded. However, the Porto player is spotted for a shirt-pulling offence on Carvalho.[LNB]84 Lampard has a go from long range this time. But another deflection takes the venom out of the effort and Helton gathers.[LNB]83 The Blues are keeping hold of the ball to try and take the sting out of their visitors. Belletti has a go from range and wants a corner when there is an obvious deflection. But he has no joy.[LNB]80 Chelsea are hanging on at the moment. The game is being played with Porto on the attack. Cech is forced to tip away a bouncing volley from Varela. Good save.[LNB]78 Fernando sees yellow when body-checking an advancing Essien in the centre of midfield.[LNB]77 Chelsea are going for a defensive move as Juliano Belletti replaces Kalou. Lampard will play the second striker in a 4-4-2 by the looks of it.[LNB]76 Porto earn another corner, but Cech claims with ease when not put under pressure by an opponent.[LNB]74 Guarin forces Cech to save with his feet when cutting in from the right. Porto had players well placed in the middle of the penalty area and that was a let off for Chelsea, who are living dangerously.[LNB]73 This game is still not in the bag for Chelsea. Porto definitely look like they have a goal in them, with Ivanovic a weak link at the back, and Ancelotti will know that another goal would be very welcome.[LNB]71 Porto break and Cech shows good hands to keep hold of a low effort.[LNB]70 Kalou does well to win a corner after a clever stepover. Malouda plays the corner short and gets the ball back, but blasts into a wall of Porto defenders.[LNB]68 Ivanovic has had an evening to forget defensively, as he gives the ball away when attempting to dribble out of trouble, but Varela's effort from 20 yards is straight down the throat of Cech.[LNB]65 Porto win a corner as Ivanovic cannot keep the ball in play. The setplay is taken short and the following cross is claimed by Cech, who shouts loud and clear.[LNB]64 Another chance for Porto. Rodriguez's evening is over and Portugal Under 21 international Silvestre Varela comes on.[LNB]62 Chelsea are confident at the moment, but chances are still going begging. Porto will remain optimistic that they can get a positive result from this as they win a free-kick just inside their host's half. Alves is adjudged to have climbed on Ricardo Carvalho at the delivery.[LNB]58 Great save from Helton. Ivanovic crosses from the right and Kalou heads at goal for the Porto goalkeeper to dive to his left and palm away for a corner. Ivanovic heads the corner over the bar.[LNB]56 Fucile is fortunate to avoid a booking when launching into a challenge on Malouda on the byline. The Porto player is lucky he does not make contact with the Chelsea winger.[LNB]54 While the ball is out of play, Porto send on Radamel Falcao in place of Gonzalez.[LNB]54 The best move of the match by a distance. A give-and-go between Lampard and Cole allows the latter to cross and Essien heads into the side netting. The build-up deserved a better finish.[LNB]53 Chelsea win a corner and Ivanovic meets the ball to head well over the bar.[LNB]52 A familiar sight as Chelsea attack, Anelka overcooks a pass and blasts the ball out of play when attempting to play the ball to Kalou.[LNB]50 It will now be interesting to see how Porto respond. They look as though they are capable of a goal on the counter-attack, but they could leave gaps at the back when chasing an equaliser.[LNB] Salomon Kalou pokes the ball through to Anelka, who breaks the offside trap. The French striker forces a save from Helton with a 15-yard effort and then reacts quickly to the rebound to finish into the roof of the net and break the deadlock.[LNB]48 GOAL ANELKA (1-0)!!![LNB]47 Porto continue to attack and Fucile has a go from long range. The effort, though sales well over the bar.[LNB]WE'RE BACK. Let's hope for an improved second half. Things can only get better.[LNB] Porto fan David Ferreira Jorge is adamant that his side can win this match and that they should not be written off, saying: "Porto go to London with a win in mind and nothing less and that is the way we all see it."[LNB]Alan McKeown says: "Chelsea look lost tonight without Drogba leading the line, and they miss Joe Cole's creativity. Porto look like they could nick a point based on there efforts in the first half."[LNB]Glen Kilsby says: "We always knew that we would struggle without Drogba up front, am hoping for a bit of Lampard magic in the second half! (Or maybe Joe Cole will make a dream comeback!)."[LNB] The odds have changed. Chelsea - 4/7, draw - 19/10 and Porto - 7/1. Mr Baines says: "At a rain-drenched Stamford Bridge, neither side has looked like breaking the deadlock. Lampard is still popular at 13/2 to score first, while the 0-0 is a 14/5 shot."[LNB]Declan Dexter says: "I think that the first half for Chelsea has just been rubbish. From what I've seen of Chelsea in the Premier League, my expectations would have been better..."[LNB]45 + 2 HALF-TIME: The first half ends with the score at 0-0. Ivanovic has struggled for Chelsea. There might be a change there. Let me have your thoughts on the opening exchanges at peter.fraser@bskyb.com.[LNB]45 ADDED TIME: There will be a minimum of two added minutes at the end of a forgettable first half. that is 120 seconds to many if you ask me, as a poor Meireles header wastes another chance.[LNB]42 Chelsea fans are getting frustrated. There are a few groans and the atmosphere is now a little flat. Porto have achieved their aim.[LNB]41 Ivanovic crosses from the right, but there again there is no presence for the Blues in attack as Helton claims with ease.[LNB]40 Malouda has a pop from 25 yards, but hits over the bar. Ballack and Lampard were free at the back post and a cross might have been the better option.[LNB]38 Porto have their best chance as Guarin heads onto the roof of the net. The visitors are getting a bit of joy when attacking Ivanovic. Guarin meets a cross from the left and nods just over the bar with Cech beaten.[LNB]36 Chelsea are missing Drogba. Ancelotti's side lacks somebody up front who can hold the ball up and bring other players into the match.[LNB]35 Ballack wants a free-kick on the edge of the Porto box when challenging with Pereira, but the German goes down dramatically and referee Plautz is not interested.[LNB]34 Porto see a bit of the ball as Pereira moves forward. But the full-back crosses to nobody and Ashley Cole plays back to Cech.[LNB]31 This has not been a classic so far. Chelsea are going to need to be patient, but their own sloppy mistakes have been damaging. It looks like the right is a good flank for the Blues. Pereira appears a weak link for Porto.[LNB]28 Mariano Gonzalez wastes a good chance for Porto. He meets a cross but has not got his timing right and tilts his head too early to nod horribly wide.[LNB]27 Lampard forces Helton into a save when turning quickly from 18 yards. An offside flag is also raised.[LNB]26 Ivanovic sums up his evening so far as he lets a pass from Essien skid past him on the touchline and out for a throw-in to Porto. To be fair, the weather conditions did not help.[LNB]24 Essien, who has already been booked, needs to be careful as he clips Fredy Guarin's heels on the halfway line.[LNB]22 Chelsea are beginning to dictate the central areas of midfield. They are, however, wasting chances as Lampard poorly heads wide when well placed.[LNB]21 I spoke too soon as Lampard goes flying down the left and crosses with the outstep of his right boot. The ball finds Anelka, but his side-foot volley is straight at Helton.[LNB]20 There is a bit of a lack of width from Chelsea. Ancelotti does not have Ashley Cole charging forward as he does in the Premier League.[LNB]19 Chelsea are getting onto the front foot. Anelka's eyes light up as the ball drops invitingly for him, but a combination of Porto defenders get the ball away from danger. Florent Malouda is then booked when diving in on the edge of the box in the aftermath.[LNB]17 Chelsea then now win their own free-kick and Lampard lets rip from 30 yards. Raul Meireles half clears and the Blues win a corner, which Helton punches clear.[LNB]15 Essien gives the ball away and in his frustration he receives a yellow card when bringing down Hulk as he attempts to get the ball back. That sloppy start continues.[LNB]13 Chelsea have surprised me by a sloppy start when in possession and Porto show they are prepared to go forward as Cristian Rodriguez unleashes a daisy-cutter from wide on the left that goes just wide of the far post after a counter-attack.[LNB]12 Terry is back on the pitch now, with Chelsea back to a full 11 men and he and his team-mates have a throw-in after Fucile fails to control[LNB]10 Terry is back on his feet. The Chelsea and England captain looks a little dazed, but should be okay to continue.[LNB]8 We can stop for breath as Terry is down after receiving an accidental elbow to the head from Bruno Alves during an aerial challenge. Definitely no intent from the Porto player, but Terry is struggling.[LNB]7 Chelsea respond with their own attack and Lampard wastes a glorious opportunity when he has time and space after team-mate Salomon Kalou let a cross pass him by.[LNB]6 It is end-to-end stuff in a bright start as Porto ace Hulk (don't make me angry, boom boom) forces Cech to save with his knees for a corner after a long-range effort.[LNB]5 The Blues go on the attack and Lampard forces Helton to tip wide with a skidding effort from 25 yards. The corner is nodded away for a second set-play by Rolando and Porto survive.[LNB]4 Lampard heads the free-kick away at the near post and a follow-up cross is calmly chested back to Petr Cech by Ashley Cole.[LNB]3 Free-kick for Porto now and a chance for the visitors to cross into the box after Michael Essien is adjudged to have fouled Jorge Fucile.[LNB]1 Chelsea work their way up the field after the free-kick and Anelka skips past weak defending on the right from Alvaro Pereira. However, the striker's cross is cut out when Lampard is lurking.[LNB]1 It is a free-kick to Chelsea after just 10 seconds as Branislav Ivanovic is clattered. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.[LNB]KICK-OFF: Chelsea get the game going at an atmospheric Stamford Bridge. The rain is hammering down in England's capital.[LNB] The teams are on the pitch, as heavy rain continues to fall, and kick-off is only minutes away. Can Chelsea forget that controversial European heartbreak against Barcelona in their last outing?[LNB]Glen Kilsby, in Poland, says: "I predict a Chelsea win, 2-1, so not comfortable. Good to see Joe Cole back after so long out with injury, he has been greatly missed! Also I would keep an eye on Borini if he plays, we are expecting great things from him! I would love to see both of them come off the bench and get a game tonight!"[LNB]Geoffrey Baines, our man at the bookies, tells me: "Most of the money has been on Chelsea to come out victorious. In Drogba's absence Anelka has been a very popular choice for first goalscorer, with John Terry (20/1) and Lampard (11/2) also taking the liking of the punters. Hulk is 11/1 to give Porto a surprise lead."[LNB] I'm expecting Chelsea to come out of the traps at Porto. The pitch is slick after a day of rain in West London and seems perfect for passing in a fast and furious opening.[LNB] It is the first chance I have had to watch Chelsea in competitive action for a full 90 minutes this season, so I am looking forward seeing how Ancelotti has made his own personal mark on style and tactics. Is there anything I should especially keep my out for?[LNB] If you fancy a flutter... Chelsea are 4/11 with the bookies, while the draw is 7/2 and Porto are at eights. Nicolas Anelka is favourite to open the scoring at 9/2.[LNB]Thomas Lacey is first out of the traps this evening, high praise to you sir, and he predicts a "comfortable win for Chelsea - 3-1". Any different opinions out there? It is peter.fraser@bskyb.com if you want to drop me a line.[LNB]Porto: Helton, Pereira, Bruno Alves, Rolando, Fucile, Raul Meireles, Fernando, Guarin, Rodriguez, Hulk, Gonzalez. Subs: Nuno, Belluschi, Falcao, Maicon, Varela, Costa, Sapunaru.[LNB]Chelsea team: Cech, Ashley Cole, Terry, Carvalho, Ivanovic, Malouda, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Kalou, Anelka. Subs: Turnbull, Joe Cole, Sturridge, Belletti, Hutchinson, Bruma, Borini.[LNB] Never mind his Preferisco La Coppa claims that he is like 007, is Chelsea boss Carlo 'shaken not stirred' Ancelotti the man to bring Champions League glory to West London? Blues owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to earn European success, has he appointed the right man for the job? Can Chelsea start in style this evening or will Porto cause and upset? Let me have your views at peter.fraser@bskyb.com. All thoughts, opinions and jokes are welcome and I'll publish a selection of the best.[LNB] Didier Drogba's Uefa ban means Nicolas Anelka returns to the starting XI. Drogba is serving the first of his three-match suspension for his reaction to the defeat against Barcelona in last year's semi-final, while Jose Bosingwa received two games. From the team that defeated Stoke at the weekend, Michael Essien replaces John Obi Mikel and Ricardo Carvalho comes in for Bosingwa. England midfielder Joe Cole is on the bench after recovering from the knee injury that has kept him out since January.[LNB] The Champions League group stages are back, and you know what that means for Chelsea fans? No, not spending most of the evening singing, 'the champions' in a mimicking, high-pitched operatic voice, but hopes of European glory.[LNB] Welcome to our live commentary of the UEFA Champions League group stages meeting between Chelsea and Porto at Stamford Bridge.[LNB]
