Match Preview

Chelsea have been having a tough time lately, and their Champions League campaign is precarious. They haven’t won in 6 matches and their last win was a nervy 3-2 victory over Shakhtar courtesy of a last gasp Moses winner.

Chelsea are now left in a position where, after only 2 Champions League wins, they must win at Stamford Bridge against Nordsjaelland. Even a Chelsea victory won’t be enough for qualification, they must rely on already qualified Ukrainian champions Shakhtar on beating Italian champions Juventus.

The last game between these two back in October ended 1-1 in Turin.‘These are players that have won the Champions League and have won a lot of trophies so they have to show this character, but they need a little more confidence.’The already under pressure and unpopular Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez says Chelsea have ‘No character’ in comparison to last years champions league winning group of players.

All Chelsea and their fans can do is hope Rafa can record a first win at the London club meanwhile they have to pray that the likes of Fernandinho, Teixeira, Fernandinho and Willian can put in a shift and topple the in form Juventus. However Adriano will be unavailable for Shakhtar after he was suspended for his goal against Nordjaelland last game week when he scored from a drop ball.

Chelsea fans wouldn’t mind if a Shakhtar player won Wednesdays game in the last minute with a goal similar to Adriano’s.
