Chelsea expected to ring the changes when they host Bristol Rovers in EFL Cup

Chelsea are expected to ring the changes when they host Bristol Rovers in the second round of the EFL Cup.

The Blues have won both of their Premier League matches this season and boss Antonio Conte is likely to rest his senior players against the League One opposition.

Colombia winger Juan Cuadrado is a target for Juventus and will miss out, and defender Kurt Zouma remains sidelined with long-term knee trouble.

Conte could give Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi his first competitive start at the club if he chooses to rest Diego Costa.

Ahead of the match, Conte urged his team to continue their winning start to the season.

"Losing always leaves sad things in you," the Blues manager said.

"You can lose your confidence and for this reason it was important to win these two games because you can continue to trust in the work and raise the confidence of the players.

"For these reasons it was important to start in the right way for all of us. Now we must continue and we have a great chance to continue in the next game at home."

Rovers hope to add winger Billy Bodin to their squad after he missed Saturday's League One trip to Southend.

The Wales Under-21 international had to sit out the 1-1 draw after picking up a stomach bug.

Pirates boss Darrell Clarke has no new injury worries for Rovers' first visit to Stamford Bridge since October 1980.

So he has plenty of options up front with Ellis Harrison, Jermaine Easter and Rory Gaffney vying to partner top scorer Matty Taylor.
