Chelsea turn to Norway star after failing in bold bid to sign Roma's De Rossi
Chelsea have failed in a bold bid for Roma's Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
It became clear De Rossi was Carlo Ancelotti's preferred choice to bolster Chelsea's midfield after Roma said they had been contacted personally by the Stamford Bridge manager.
'I took a personal call from Ancelotti about Daniele,' revealed Roma sporting director Bruno Conti.
'It was a mega offer financially, but we said no. He remains unsellable.'
