Chelsea to sign David Luiz from Benfica for £25m

Chelsea are on the brink of landing another huge transfer deadline day signing with the capture of Benfica defender David Luiz for a fee of ?25million plus midfielder Nemanja Matic.[LNB]The Blues' protracted move for Luiz had looked to have collapsed last week after a month of talks between the two sides.[LNB]But Roman Abramovich's incredible spending splurge shows no sign ofhalting with the British transfer record-breaking ?50m signing ofFernando Torres also imminent before tonight's 11pm deadline.[LNB]On the move: David Luiz (right) is a central defender for Benfica and Brazil[LNB]Makeweight: Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is moving to Benfica as part of the deal[LNB]Chelsea are due to pay around ?20m up front to the Portuguese giants for Luiz, with another ?5m due later.[LNB]Luiz is a central defender who has won four caps for Brazil.[LNB]Makeweight Matic, 22, is currently on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in Holland.
