Chelsea tight-lipped over Terry

Chelsea have refused to confirm that captain John Terry has on Wednesday flown to Italy in a bid to solve his troublesome nerve injury.[LNB] The Blues are facing a defensive crisis with Terry and fellow centre-back Alex both ruled out for weeks.[LNB]Terry missed Chelsea's shock 3-0 defeat by Sunderland at the weekend with a nerve problem that affects his right leg and he also withdrew from the England squad to play France.[LNB]However, it is now understood that Terry has gone to Italy to see a consultant recommended by club boss Carlo Ancelotti.[LNB]Terry, 29, was believed to have travelled with Chelsea doctor Bryan English.[LNB]However, Chelsea have yet to confirm Terry's visit and the England international is also set to undergo further scans back in England.[LNB]Terry's absence has been compounded by the loss of Alex who is expected to be out for up to two months.[LNB]It leaves Chelsea boss Ancelotti with Branislav Ivanovic as his only senior central defender.[LNB]Against Sunderland, Ancelotti preferred to play 33-year-old right-back Paulo Ferreira in central defence instead of youngster Jeffrey Bruma and Sunderland exposed their frailties time and again.[LNB]Chelsea have trips to Tottenham and Arsenal coming up in December, sandwiching the visit of Manchester United to Stamford Bridge.
