[LNB]Chelsea were hoping to open talks first and come to some sort of compromise on the compensation, but it now appears that Villa-Boas is prepared to push the situation forward. [LNB]"FC Porto was today notified of the intention of Andre Villas-Boas to resign from his contract with the club by triggering the release clause immediately," read a Porto statement.[LNB]"The contract will be terminated once the required amount is paid." [LNB]Chelsea have been hopeful of making an announcement on their new manager within the next 48 hours and it is increasingly likely that they will be able to confirm Villas-Boas's appointment either today or tomorrow.
