Chelsea striker Anelka ruled out of Euro showdown with rivals Liverpool
Chelsea's dreams of silverware have been rocked by the loss of Nicolas Anelka.The French striker has been ruled out for three weeks after picking up a toe injury in Saturday's defeat at Tottenham.
Anelka, 30, is expected to miss the crunch Champions League double header with arch rivals Liverpool.And the Blues' top scorer is also likely to sit out the Barclays Premier League matches with Newcastle and Bolton as they attempt to claw their way back into the title race.
France have not included Anelka for their upcoming World Cup qualification games against Lithuania.
